Here is your chance to own ninety six acres of great whitetail deer hunting country. This Buck haven is located only 65 miles north of St. Louis, MO in Pike county MO. This ground lies across the Mississippi river from the world famous Pike County, Illinois. For years we have watched these bucks swim the river back and forth from one Pike County to the other.

Why is this great deer and big buck hunting ground so darn good? The deer herd has a great gene pool. There is a good ratio of bucks to does. Hunting pressure is at a good level in Pike County, Missouri yet this area that the land lies in has very light hunting pressure. Along the Mississippi where this property lies there is a game preserve up river about a mile, a large private duck hunting property just north of the preserve, then private land ( which is the majority of this area) owned by a family that has only a few hunters in it and they are gun hunters, not bow hunters.

With what has already been said, this big buck hunting ground is surrounded by literally thousands of acres of bean and corn fields which keep these deer large, health, and still smart as ever. As well the mixture of trees on this ground is one of primarily Pin Oaks, Red Oaks, Pecan, Maple, and various soft woods all providing lots of natural feed.

On the south end of the property there is a five acre field that was cleared several years ago for the purpose of duck hunting with the water for such being pumped directly from the Mississippi river. This area also has a boat ramp where the pump was dropped into the river and could be used again for a boat ramp with minimal maintenance.

This property could hold a small Marina / bait shop and launch area. There are no public launch areas for several miles and they are located south of the property near a town called Winfield. If this part of the property was developed to have an income it could be done without taking away from the great hunting.

Another characteristic of this deer hunting ground is a beautiful large natural slough that runs through the center of the property which is filled with Wood ducks. I have seen this slough dry only one year in the past twenty five during the hunting season. There is as well three secondary sloughs that have water depending on the river level. The main slough offers great cat fish fishing for the younger members of the group.

See the pictures and you will agree this is a great big buck hunting place, a place to take a doe to fill the freezer, shot ducks, and watch geese flying the river or simply hunting squirrels from under the pecan trees. One of the most primitive pieces of timber you will ever see in the Midwest.
